BTCPay Store on Coincharge
A BTCPay store is required for Bitcoin payment processing. If you don’t run your own BTCPay server, which is required to create a BTCPay store, you can share the Coincharge BTCPayServer for free.
Coincharge operates a BTCPay server and provides this server as a free “third-party hosting” solution for testing purposes.
Set up your own BTCPay store on our BTCPay server to receive Bitcoin payments. Sharing our BTCPay server is the ideal way to start gaining your first experience with accepting Bitcoin. Accept Bitcoin in your online store or offer Bitcoin payment in your retail store with a POS app.
If your sales increase or you want to receive additional Lightning payments, you can run your own BTCPay server.

Create a BTCPay Store on the Coincharge BTCPay Server
If you do not operate your own BTCPay server, you can set up your own BTCPay store on an existing BTCPay server.
This type of sharing a BTCPay server is called third-party hosting.
Coincharge offers you the possibility to set up a BTCPay Store on the Coincharge BTCPay Server free of charge and use it for your own purposes.
Coincharge wants to use third-party hosting to help other users accept Bitcoin. This solution is primarily intended for beginners who would like to try out Bitcoin and gain initial experience.
We would like to point out that we provide this service free of charge, but cannot provide free support or assistance.
We also cannot guarantee unlimited availability and it cannot be ruled out that we will no longer provide the service at a later date.
The service we offer is mainly for trying out and testing. We recommend using your own BTCPay store on your own BTCPay server for long-term and professional use.
Create BTCPay Store
Create your own BTCPay Store and try out the different applications and possibilities that you can implement with your own BTCPay Store.
For instructions on how to create and configure a BTCPay Store, see Creating, Setting Up and Administering a BTCPay Store.
Bitcoin Wallet
You need your own Bitcoin wallet to which the incoming Bitcoin are credited.
If you create a BTCPay store, you can also use it to create your own internal Bitcoin wallet.
Only you have access to this Bitcoin wallet, because you receive the private key in the form of 12 words that only you know.
You can transfer your Bitcoin balance from this Bitcoin wallet to another Bitcoin wallet at any time.
Keep the 12 words from the internal Bitcoin wallet in a safe place. If at some point you can no longer access the Coincharge BTCPay server, you will always have full access to your Bitcoin with these 12 words.
Coincharge does not have access to these 12 words at any time and cannot make this seed available to you.
If you already have a Bitcoin wallet, you can have the incoming Bitcoin transferred directly to your own Bitcoin wallet.
For detailed instructions on the different ways to deposit a Bitcoin wallet at your BTCPay store, please see the article: BTCPay Bitcoin Wallet
Lightning Wallet
We have set up the BTCPay server so that you can technically also receive Lightning payments.
Two options are available for this purpose. If you already have your own Lightning Node (e.g. via Raspiblitz), you can connect your own Lightning Node via “Connect to a Lightning Node”.
If you don’t have your own Lightning Node, then you can create your own Lightning Wallet.
We have set up LNbank for this purpose. You can set up your own Lightning Wallet via LNbank, incoming Lightning payments will then be credited to this Lightning Wallet.
From this LNbank Lightning Wallet you can send your Satoshi to another Lightning Wallet.
Here you can find the right Lightning Wallet.
The “Use internal Node” setting must not be made. These Lightning payments will be credited to Coincharge’s Lightning Node.
You will not see the Lightning payments on your internal Bitcoin wallet, but only as a successful payment under Invoices.
If you have already received Lightning payments that have been credited to Coincharge’s BTCPay server, please send us a Lightning Invoice for the amount and we will refund the Satoshi immediately.

FAQ on the use of the Coincharge BTCPay Store
There is no limit to the number of applications under a BTCPay store. Apps are added at the store level.
You need a store to create an app.
The BTCPay Store is designed for people to try out and test extensively. If you run a professional online store, we recommend using your own BTCPay server, on which your own BTCPay store is then operated.
Since the BTCPay Store is intended for testing purposes, no service or support is offered. The accessibility may be limited and without giving reasons the operation of the BTCPay server may be discontinued at any time.
How to get the xPub key from your Bitcoin wallet can be found in the article: “Getting the xPub key from my wallet”.
You then store this xPub key in the BTCPay store. You can find instructions under: “Deposit xPub Key with a BTCPay Store“.
In order to be able to receive Lightning payments, you need to operate your own Lightning Node. The own Lightning Node must be stored as “Use Custom Node”.
